In 1973 A.D., two visionary brothers from Pokhara, the picturesque city of western Nepal, recognized a great opportunity in the nation’s confectionery market. At a time when Nepal relied heavily on imported sweets from South Asia, Europe, and the West—with no strong domestic confectionery brand in sight—they founded a modest enterprise called Laxmi Mithai Bhandar.
With a dream to make Nepal self-reliant in confectionery, the brothers poured their dedication into crafting quality sweets and building trust among consumers. Their journey was far from easy—resources were scarce, competition was intense, and the economic climate was challenging. Yet, they persevered. Their unwavering belief in entrepreneurship and their ability to discover opportunities in every circumstance helped them rise above the obstacles. Along the way came many remarkable achievements, and a few setbacks that became lessons for the future.
After nearly three decades of relentless effort, Laxmi Mithai Bhandar grew into what is known today as Laxmi Group—a respected industrial and trading powerhouse in Nepal. Their legacy includes some of Nepal’s most beloved confectionery brands, cherished across generations: Orange Ball, Chocofun, Lacto Fun, Crave, and Smart Lollipop.
The company stands tall today because of its passion for pursuing opportunities and the tireless energy invested by its founders—energies now treasured as the jewels of its success story. This spirit of exploration and continuous learning remains the guiding force of the organization.
